I purchased these assisted hinges to lift the top of a full size platform bed I built and allowing easier access to the storage area underneath. And although they are heavy duty and very well made, they only lift the bed top about 12-16 inches, which really is not high enough to reach the back portion of the storage area with any relative ease. I need a hinge that opens the top to at least a 45 degree angle relative to the frame. At best these hinges only get you to about 15 degrees. Also it should be noted that these hinges came with no installation instructions whatsoever, so to be fair maybe I'm missing an important detail about how the manufacturer intended these hinges to be installed. But I've used similar style hinges over the years and am pretty handy.No instructions included and the bolts provided are all flat tip not meant for wood frames.Installed these per recommendations. I used them for a built-in daybed that I built under my stairs. They worked ok when they were installed on just the plywood deck but as soon as the small twin size mattress was added to the mix they stopped working. Really hard to pickup the mattress and it will no longer stay open when lifted. There are better options than these.I thought I’d get at least a foot of clearing, but got less. Pretty sturdy.We used these on our bunk beds. Only thing we didn’t like about them was that they didn’t open as wide as we liked.Works well. Used for a storage bed. I wish it came with instructions on where to mount it. There was no measurements to go off of. But after some trial and error, I got them in and they work great.No instructions with item.Easy to assemble. Easy to mount and easily supports my bed platform.
